Born into the Ty Beanie Babies Collection on February 3, 1998. Now retired. Hang tag reads: “Isn’t this just the funniest bird? When we saw her, we said ‘how absurd.’ Looks aren’t everything, this we know. Her love for you, she’s sure to show!” THE BOOK: “These Birds Can’t Fly” by Allan Fowler (A “Rookie Read-About Science” Book), c. 1998, Children’s Press / Grolier – Danbury, Connecticut. Size is about 6″ x 7″, with soft covers, 31 pages. For ages 4-8. Briefly describes ostriches, emus, cassowaries, and kiwis — flightless birds known as ratites — as well as another bird that cannot fly, the penguin.
